ive got a fuel problem i cant figure out, about a month ago my '49 cub started overfueling itself, [ blowing black smoke out the stack, ideling like a dog and slobbering,and missing when running] it will run ok at wide open throttle, after cleaning the air cleaner, which didnt need it, checking everything else, i put a kit in the carb it had a slightly sticky needle and seat as when it idled really bad, i found raping on the float bowl fixed it for a minute or two, also cranking the mixture screw all the way closed made no difference in the way it ran and it should have ran it out of gas right? now all i really found in the carb,which was clean of debris, was the gasket between the 2 halves and the mounting gasket wernt in the best shape, so after the kit it does the exact same thing, and it still wont shut off when the mixture screw is closed, and it still seems to be over fueling, so where is it getting the gas? any other ideas? i have plenty of other stuff to do to this cub this winter, a hydraulic leak from the touch control and a couple of bearings in the back, so id like at least 1 sucess story to start off with [ the carb is the ih one]
