Fred the last time I split My BN If I recall correctly I split it at the engine. and the prop shaft just pulled out of the clutch / fly wheel. Splitting it at the back of the prop tube housing you have to deal with the throw out bearing. It may seam simpler to split it at the back I didn't think about it just worked from the front. Sling and support the engine. If you have an equipment mounting bar ( cultivator bar attachment) for the front or can make one that will assist in supporting the front of the tractor and keep it upright. The back / tran and rear end the rear wheels will keep steady just set on an makeshift bench or roller cart. >> Two places the leak may be the lower 1st.2nd 3rd 4th shaft it is just a cap with a shim and seal pack use good quality auto gasket maker; the upper is the input prop shaft there check the oil seal and shaft face //if worn use a speedy sleeve to repair the shaft if needed. **** see other's comments and notes about these. also use auto gasket maker to reseal flange. Best to you work safe. Wm.
