Semantics below...all of "em were made by International Harvester regardless of what the badging on the hood says; "International" on the Utility and Standard tread versions, and "Farmall" on the Row Crops...only issues to look for other than the normal tractor stuff is the TA if so equipped, often times if they are getting weak, it shows in the lower range while pulling something, or if bad enough the will even slip just heading up a hill when you hit the lower range, occasionally they are bad enough that the tractor won"t even move on flat ground in that range. ALSO don"t just assume (or believe) that just because they have no lever for the TA, that they came without a TA...it is fairly common practice to remove the lever when selling a tractor with a bad TA and just say "It"s not a TA tractor." If it is a utility, make sure you check the mid section well for cracks, welds and breaks, often they had loaders, the original IH loaders mounted so that most of the stress was applied mid tractor as opposed to the rear axles. If it was a loader tractor you will want to check for excessive steering box wear on a utility, or front bolster wear on a row crop...both will manifest themselves as loose wobbly steering. Of course a Fast Hitch ads to the value a little. Great tractors as a rule!
