So this weekend I made an offer on the 1066 Hydro. The tires are junk, one rear was flat with the sidewall blown out. Both rims rusted out at the valve stem. Did not even start and run it, trust him saying it runs and moves just fine. He asked if I had a chance to look the machine over, I said yes. He then told me he would begin by telling me where he valued the tractor at, and that he felt it was worth 7,500 because he hears Hydros are collectable. Then he asks what I was thinking as far as price. I was a little shocked at his price, but none the less told him, 3,750 being that it needed new rear tires and tubes from the get go. He did not bat an eye, and said, no. He was going to stay firm on 7,500 because he feels it would easily sell quickly at that price. So the discussion ended as I thought 3,750 was actually a generous offer. Not sure how I could have negotiated differently. Thoughts?
