Lots of those tractors have all the paint gone from the serial tags that said the model. Both tags are in the same place. Both tractors started serial numbers at 501 and both went higher than the serial # you posted. So you go by date codes and things found on the tractor.
I posted below one way to tell. Other things, 300 key start, 350 key and starter button. Rear light right side 300, left side 350. Don't see any holes in the steering support or hydraulics cover to change valves from single to double acting like a 350 would have. Clutch pedal on a 300 has a adjustable stop bolt at the very bottom. 350 has none. 300 used a keyed steering wheel. 350 splined. 300 169 on engine block. 350 175 on block. Most of the 300 and all 350 used the block cast # posted. My moneys on it being a 300.
Also the 360486R2 # is the casting # of the center housing. Before 300 production ended they were up to a higher suffix than R2. 350 will mostly be R5. Tractor serial would be a 1955 300.
Only a little over half as many farmall 350 tractors were made as was farmall 300 tractors. Both don't seem to be real high on the collection list of some collectors though.
