I am revisiting the brakes on the ole '45 H again.
Thank you too for pointing me the right direction on locating the bearing seal .. I was sort of on the wrong page. come to find out I will need a bearing too but that is a story for another day.
Here is my question. Looking in the parts manual and even the drum on the other side (left side) of the tractor has a jam nut on the under side. This supports an block that rests just short of pushing the lining to the rotating drum thus .. making a brake.
The left side looks a bit cobbled and the jam nut assembly is missing entirely and there are two holes.
Am I wrong in thinking I really don't need this or is this something that should actually be there. The photo is as I have removed it from the tractor.
