A majority of dealer installed PS systems in 53-56 used the CharLyn Kits. That included a Saginaw PS pump made for GM and Packard cars of that era. And TG from Charlyn, Coupler generic, used by IH and JD. Brackets for the install . Here is the CharLyn on my SMTA Note that coupler has both lateral and logitudinal relief. It was green when I acquired it off Ebay for 10 dollars, I guess none of the IH guys knew what it was. Extrememly important for smooth applcation of the forces. If you can break the code you can get those pumps for less than $75. One $1 O ring and most are good to go. I had local fab shop make up pump brackets for $20. Have a few spares too. Generic hoses from farm store for $30. It can be done for a lot less than $800. I have a spare TG bracket, the one that attaches it to the steering column. Oh and that manifold has been redone, the overspray is off the hoses, the lines are cleaned and it's all pretty much perfect; even though it is hidden under the hood
