High speed mixture. On the front lower edge of the carb there is an adjustment screw. this screw adjusts the load mixture. It should be about 3 to 3 and one half turn out from all the way in (gently all the way in, not pliers tight) from that position turn it outward until the exhaust (wide open) is a little smudgy black. Then turn it in until it just clears up the soot in the exhaust. Try running it under full load. If it still sputters, turn it out 1/4 turn at a time till it runs well. If that does nothing, and it is still running ratty, set the points (.020" on the high lobe of the dist cam) and static time it to TDC. Jim
