There is more info on these at the Red Power Forum. I seem to recall that the total was in the 80's but only 2 are in the US. I suspect a few must be in Cuba. More in Brazil. A collector in Germany has a bunch of High Clearance IH tractors but not sure if any are SMTAVs. His collection mostly came from South America. I wonder what happened to the SMV that was offered from Uruguay (?) on eBay last winter. I think the seller was from TN.
Gotta wonder why it has the wrong seat and coil. I believe the one I saw at a PA auction had the right seat but a long, and very noticeable, paint run on the left side of the gas tank. It has been sold several times (maybe 3) in the past five years. Highest price was around $75,000. The collector from Germany was at that auction. I assume he didn't win it at $43,000.
