Our plows in clay riddled Northern Indiana were always coulter equipped. Lantz coulters with two blades were common. The second blade was cupped and set to top curl the cut edge of the land over into the furrow. This covered more trash. Others had a corrugated radial crimp causing them to get traction in their cut and turn such that trash was sliced through. I believe that they also make a plow pull easier in most soils. Dry sand would be an exception. Jim
