check the oil bath make sure it aint leaking, and if that isn't the problem the gasket around the valve cover could be leaking, if the tank is the origanal i have had problems with them rusting on the inside and the rust makes it hard for fuel to get to the carb 9 times out of 10 it is a lack of fuel check the sediment bowl and put about a 1/2 inch stand pipe on it (brass or copper, and if that aint it back out the jet pin on the tractor (while she's running warm)and the carb may have crap in it so if it can't be adjusted to run right the carb may have to be taken apart and cleaned/rebuilt, it is commen for the carb to be blocked with rest when the tank has rust in it, i hope you can get it runnin but if all that doesn't fix it that it needs searous help (rings, valves cylinders honed/replaced)
