I called on an H on CL that had been on less than an hour. The ad said new 12.4x38 Firestones, belly mower, and ran just fine. He bought a Kubota to replace it and that is the only reason it is leaving. I told the guy I would come down and look at it. I asked if he would take a check since I don't keep a grand laying around the house and the banks are closed. He said he would check with his dad. He got back to me after a short while and somebody more local than me went and bought it. I assume he had cash...
Turns out the tractor was the last one made in 1942! Sucks for me, good for the other guy. I thought the tractor would have been a good deal without a special serial number. The owners son (who I dealt with) said it "went to a collector who was going to take it to shows" maybe it is a YTer? I'm all depressed and I tought talking about it might make me feel better.
Edit - Sorry...lots of typos. Must have been all my tears. In hindsight I should have just headed down with the trailer and some cash. I could have written a check for the remainder or I could have let him hold the cash until I paid in full on Monday.

As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
