I have a delco 10si on my H and it fits, but it is tight. On the advice of YT folks I put a piece of rubber about 1/4" thick between the alt and the valve cover to keep them from rubbing each other. Picture is from when I was originally asking about it a couple of years ago when my H was new to me. The alt in the picture was what came on my tractor, it was okay having the terminals up but to me they seem to work best pointing down at the long mounting tube, if you get one that is oriented to the side you'll just need to pull the four long screws and turn the back half to the desired position. There just is not room for the wires between the hood and the alternator. I just got through re-wiring my H following the Bob M/Janicholson wiring diagrams that are on this forum, and now my tractor is happy. Zach
