Hi, I just bought a farmall 826 to try and replace working my farmall 450. Its a great tractor, runs excellent, and supposedly the engine was rebuilt not long before i bought it. The only question I have is, i feel like the engine is not quite getting the full power it could. Ive had it hooked to the sled once just to see what it could do, and it did great. I just feel like it could be getting more fuel. Unfortunatly, my knowledge is pretty limited on these pumps, and im not 100% sure on how to increase the fuel delivery. If i remember correctly, i think it is the bosch pump. Theres a screw on a stop that controls how far the lower linkage on the pump can travel (the linkage that the fuel shut-off cable it attached to). I was told to back that out for a little adjustment, and I did. It did help a little, but its still not where i think it should be. Plus i plan on installing an m&w turbo kit, so i know i will need more fuel then. Right now, i backed it all the way out, and ive heard to get more travel, you can actually remove the lower linkage, jump a few splines backwards, and that will give you more travel when you reinstall it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or if i am not clear on what i am asking or if my information is not correct, please feel free to correct me.
