Farmall 826 injection pump

Hi, I just bought a farmall 826 to try and replace working my farmall 450. Its a great tractor, runs excellent, and supposedly the engine was rebuilt not long before i bought it. The only question I have is, i feel like the engine is not quite getting the full power it could. Ive had it hooked to the sled once just to see what it could do, and it did great. I just feel like it could be getting more fuel. Unfortunatly, my knowledge is pretty limited on these pumps, and im not 100% sure on how to increase the fuel delivery. If i remember correctly, i think it is the bosch pump.
Theres a screw on a stop that controls how far the lower linkage on the pump can travel (the linkage that the fuel shut-off cable it attached to). I was told to back that out for a little adjustment, and I did. It did help a little, but its still not where i think it should be. Plus i plan on installing an m&w turbo kit, so i know i will need more fuel then.
Right now, i backed it all the way out, and ive heard to get more travel, you can actually remove the lower linkage, jump a few splines backwards, and that will give you more travel when you reinstall it.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Or if i am not clear on what i am asking or if my information is not correct, please feel free to correct me.

It normally only takes a couple of turns at most to reach the max that pump will put out with out some internal work done. If the fuel pressure is not up to snuff you could be short of fuel though and it is easily adjustable from outside if original pump. You need to be certain of your fuel flow first off and then with a gauge hooked up you gently tap the end plug of the regulator piston to increase pressure. If you go too far, well, then you have to take regulator apart and tap plug back out. Need to look up specs though and also a good idea to observe the speed advance with a window on pump while doing this so you would need some knowledge of what to look for.

Make sure lower control lever always contacts front screw after starting. Keep water out of fuel, Bosch VA pumps will last a long time, but many hard parts are no longer available. Lever can be jumped one spline and screw reset on dyno, two splines is usually too much on test stand. If you go too far, engine will stop anyway.

Ill try to dig up some specs or a repair manual for it. Im glad you mentioned the fuel pressure, I completely forgot to check for that. I guess i get a little ahead of myself and dont think of the easier things first. Thanks for the help!

So to jump a spline, would i just remove the spring on the linkage, pull the linkage off and jump it back one spline? Im just making sure its as easy as i thought. Unfortunately i cant go look at it now because i am out of state finishing my semester at college, so im picturing all of this from memory.
