It depends on where you're at as to wether it will do well with 3-14's. That is what it was sold to pull, though. I'm an M man myself- but I traded mine off for a 450D. The hundred series have nice features a letter series don't have. Like Optional power steering and fast hitch and live PTO. If the 300 has those options and is at similiar $, I'd lean towards the 300 for a "working" tractor, unless you just like M's. M is a great tractor, pulls 3-14's all day no problem, but steers kinda like a bear. I'll have one again, just because there were M's in my family. I guess what kinds of equipment are you looking to use? Live PTO is handier, TA is handier, hydraulics are a little nicer in the 300. You really are talking some of the greatest tractors IH made, It would be hard to go wrong with either. Condition and price should be your biggest concerns.
