I have a Farmall A that has a load bearing noise in the trans when it moves or when the PTO is kicked in. Anyway, a friend has a Farmall A that he was going to scrap and wanted to know if I needed any parts. After talking to him we ageed that I would take his A, use the parts that I need. Take any hard parts that I may need when I replace the bearings in my trans, Then junk the tractor and give him the money. Sounds good until he told me on the phone a few days later that the tractor is a 1939 model. His 1939 A is not a busted up tractor but has an engine that would cost more to fix than the tractor would be worth, much less spend money on paint, and etc. Does the fact that his Farmall A was a first year tractor make a difference? If so I will not junk it.
