The Champion D16 plug was replaced by the D15Y as the recommended plug for normal use about 50 years ago. The D15Y is one heat range colder but it is an extended tip so it worked a little better. When the leaded fuels were phased out Champion changed the recommendation to D18Y for normal service but kept the D15Y for severe duty. For light duty you can use a D21 plug. That plug will help if you have an engine that burns some oil. You should not use the D21 if your tractor is going to be run for any length of time under full load like plowing. If you have trouble with fouling plugs under heavy loads you really need to address the oil/fuel problems.
