My M seems to be running on 3 cylinders. What are the best plugs for it. The PO has at least 3 different brands in it now. Thanks Kent

i run the autolite 386 or 388. the 388 is a little hotter. if its a magneto, the autolite 3116 or 3118, the 18 being the hotter plug.

I've been running Autolite 386's in my tractors for quite a while now but I don't think they're as good as they once were. Champion D-16's are will also work and at the moment I seem to be having better luck with them. Sam

Thanks Guys. Up here in Canada, Autolite arn't very easy to find, but i have no problem getting Champion or AC Delco. I'll give it a try when i get to the "Big City". LOL

The Champion D16 plug was replaced by the D15Y as the recommended plug for normal use about 50 years ago. The D15Y is one heat range colder but it is an extended tip so it worked a little better. When the leaded fuels were phased out Champion changed the recommendation to D18Y for normal service but kept the D15Y for severe duty. For light duty you can use a D21 plug. That plug will help if you have an engine that burns some oil. You should not use the D21 if your tractor is going to be run for any length of time under full load like plowing. If you have trouble with fouling plugs under heavy loads you really need to address the oil/fuel problems.

I run d21 champions in my h and my m for easier starting especially in colder wheather . Never had a problem with the champions. Good Luck , Kenny
