We (Cessna) were developing the next generation of draft control and 3 point for IH and it worked great. But, for whatever reason, they decided to not buy it. I had the opportunity to operate the 460U that had the new system on it a few years later (1965) and you wouldn't believe it, but that 460 would easily pull a 4x16" semi-mounted plow. At that time Oliver was interested in using some of the technology in that system and we ran it side by side with a 1650 Oliver which has about 12-14 more HP. The Oliver engineers couldn't believe their eyes. I was in the meeting in Charles City with Cessna project engineer Marvin Darling when Oliver first expressed interest in it, and although I was not directly connected with the project, I stayed interested in it. Too bad IH didn't go with it... they would have been a step ahead of everyone else.
