In reference to the discussion now on page 3 that we got sidetracked on, now that I know what you mean, yes the C in the IH enclosed in the C on the older gauges as "duplicated" by OEM does look overdone. I don't have any of those. However, I don't find any pictures in Guy Fay's book with one of the original gauges in it. I have a 47 M and a 48 C that I have done nothing to as yet and both have what I assume are original gauges with only IH on them. I thought the gauges on my dad's 1947 H had IH enclosed by the C, but I have not seen that tractor since about 1960. On the hood, I believe IH appeared in 1945, I have no proof of that. Could that IH appeared on the gauges in 1945 also, but Dave Slater, Jim Becker or gene bender will have to answer that. I have a 41 H, but it has generic gauges that do not look like IH's. I'm not a perfectionest, but if I did have a pre-1945 or whatever tractor I needed gauges for, I would probably just use the incorrect IH ones, as I agree with you on the OEM ones. The IH ones are probably incorrect too, but are at least close.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
