Ok guys i need some help. I own my granddads 574 diesel tractor and recently the clutch went out in it. I got it home and was going to fix a couple small things before i took it to the mechanic that has worked on it for 30 years. I got water in my hydraulic fluid so i drained it and while i was waiting to pick some new fluid up i was going to replace my ignition switch. After hooking up the switch i cranked it up not thinking with no hydraulic fluid i may do some damage. When i cranked up to make sure my wires were correct i heard a little grinding. I thought it was in the starter and i had some wires backwards. No sure if flywheel may have been grinding. So today after i got hy-trans back in it i cranked up and had a little smoke and after 20-30 seconds of running it locked up and cut off. WHAT HAVE I DONE?? Is there something else i could have messed up, could it be only flywheel and clutch? My mechanic knows the clutch went out but i hate to tell him i may have screwed something else up. He is going to let me have it.
