Went out after work and checked the compression. 110 psi on each cylinder. Adjusted the valves to 0.017. i had not removed the old manifold so i did not put a new gasket on.
Tried to start it and nothing. Poured gas into the carb and it ran for 5 seconds. Took the carb off and took it apart. The main jet was plugged and I could not get air to pass through it. This was plugged BEFORE I sent it out to be "rebuilt". I would have done it myself but someone before me had just about stripped the slot out of the main jet. Thought I should have a "professional" work on it. Guess I was wrong. Will be calling the carb shop tomorrow.
Are new main jet available since it looks like this one will have to be drilled out or should I just buy a new carb?
Thanks for all your help and I will keep you posted.
