I picked up a 52 Super C today for 1 more project. This will be my 3rd, all with FH. I now have one for plowing and discing, 1 set up to cultivate and side dress and the 3rd specifically to plant/fertilize. I know one will do it all but this way I don't have to change equipment, just jump on and start it up.
Any way I bought it non running and owner told me the clutch was out. I bought it right, pd up and got it started in the sellers driveway. It is not the clutch but further back. It's completely silent when depressing clutch, no noise from clutch or trans. I can see the trans shaft turning through the inspection cover. I'm hoping it's just the woodruff key sheared or missing. This is the tractor I previously posted about with the split torque tube from a later model. I'm thinking that may have something to do with it.
The question is can I split at the trans/torque tube without having to completely tear down the whole tractor?
I do have all the appropriate support blocks,jacks, cherry picker, A frame hoist etc
