The question I have is is the shift rod end bent or warn? I saw one that had worn off the corner and every time you would try to put it in gear, as soon as the shift bar reached its position the shifter would slide out of the notch and the next ting you knew you tried to shift it and you ended up in two gears at the same time and the only way to fix it was to pull the cover and get everything in neutral again. What Gramps did was build it up with a welder and grind it back to shape and the correct size. I only say this because I never saw one bent down there. Up on the outside, yes but not in the transmission and I would hate to see someone bend it while trying to fix it and cause trouble in the other gears and shafts. LarryT
