I think you're looking at around $2000+ to pay someone to replace the TA. You can do it yourself much cheaper, but it requires removing large sections of the tractor (aka "splitting").
Splitting is heavy and dangerous work, and without the right know-how and at least some of the proper equipment, you're looking at a disaster.
If the tractor runs and drives with the TA lever ahead, it will run FOREVER like that.
Lots of tractors being sold these days have TA problems. People equate that to the TA being some sort of "weak link" or "flawed" feature of the tractor.
Nothing could be further from the truth. These tractors are 25+ years old, and served the bulk of their useful lives as primary power on farms. Used day in and day out at full capacity.
The TAs are JUST PLAIN WORE OUT from normal use.
Replace the TA now, and it will last you the rest of your life. You little hobby farmers who run the tractor over a few acres a couple weeks a year will never run the tractor enough to wear out the TA again even if you're only in your 30's.
