I was having problems with my Super A not wanting to always turn over. I replaced the battery and then replaced the starter switch on the starter. It also had a bad solder joint in the starter that was fixed. It works much better now, but still occasionally wants to not turn over the engine when it is hot. So I am suspecting that maybe the timing is off. How do you check the timing on the this tractor that has a distributor? I have a timing light that runs off of 12 volts. Do I connect the timing light to 12 volts on another vehicle and then connect the timing light to #1? Is the timing mark on the front pulley or is it on the fly wheel? What RPM is the timing set at and what is the setting? Thanks for all of your help. I am slowly learning more about these machines that I grew up driving as a kid.
