Question for all the guys that have rebuilt numerous tractors out there. What do you do with all of the old fluids that you drain out these old machines?
Engine oil is fairly easy to recycle at the auto parts store, but I got yelled at the last time I brought some in oil with some anti-freeze mixed in from a blown head gasket. The manager told me I can't bring any more oil unless it doesn't have ANY water in it.
Where does a guy bring in used rear end oil? Some of the 50+ year old oil I've drained out of the last 2 tractors I worked on resembled snot more so than oil. Is there some place that will take this to recycle?
How about the fuel oil that you run thru to clean out the rear end? Can a guy filter this and reuse it? I try to use it 2 or 3 times in different rear ends, but hat to have gallons of fuel oil laying around that I might not use for years.
How about varnish that used to be gas? I've been burning some of it in bon fires, but it really stinks.
