Red Rookie said: (quoted from post at 08:54:17 05/08/10) Hello,
I like the way that pressed steel wheels look and am thinking about putting some on my M. I was wondering what options I have for hubs for a 9 bolt wheel? I know I can get clamp on dual hubs for an M with a 2 3/4" axle but will larger ones- say from a 706- clamp down far enough? Are weld on hubs the way to go? Just looking for opinions and what options may be available.
Thanks!
The clamp-on hubs have got to be for the 2 3/4" axle, so your choices are limited to the M, Super M, 400, 450, and possibly the 560. The hubs from a tractor with axles larger than 2 3/4" will NOT work.
I had intended to do the same thing on my M, and bought some 9 bolt rims with rotted tires and then found some clamp-on hubs. I never used any of it, probably never will.

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
