You are going to need to have the seals in the pump worked on. it could be literally cracked or broken. it should have engine oil only in the chamber, too the check port you mentioned. I would not try to run it any more until the pump was repaired. It might be clear what is wrong with it by taking it apart carefully on a bench, but shops might not work on it is it has been taken apart casually. (There are good diesel pump shops, I do not have a contact for a good one, the archives might provide a good source. Jim
I just got my MD injectors redone at DIS in Windsor, WI. They were very reasonable at $200 each with new valves and new everything in each. The Central Diesel guy would have been about 50% more than that, but I hear he is VERY good.
Too bad Sask is so far away, I would LOVE to have a WD-9. Bad pump or not. They are no big thing, only money. Couldn't it just be a bad lift pump seal causing inj pump dilution? That is a super cheap shot in the dark if it is a possible cause. No timing or any other stuff needed, just a $5(?) gasket.
