You ALWAYS charge a battery with POS from charger to POS on Battery and NEG from charger to NEG on battery REGARDLESS. Think about it, the battery or charger dont care that one of the battery terminals happens to be bonded to some huge hunk of old iron..........SAFETY NOTE its safer to make the last connection AWAY FROM the battery top where explosive gases may be present. IE If the tractor is Pos ground you could use the tractors iron frame as a substitute for the batterys POS post or vice versa for Neg ground.
Similar, if you use jumper cables its still POS to POS and NEG to NEG. If the tractor is Pos ground and the truck is Neg ground and youre jumping DONT LET THE TRUCK FRAME/BUMPER CONTACT THE TRACTOR
Also a tractor genny can charge at EITHER Pos or Neg ground once properly polarized.
