Don't like the shift pattern? Most people will say that it is better than the 06 series as many 06s have been converted to the 56 shifter. Also IMHO, the 56 shift pattern is better than the 86 series also.
With that said, these tractors are getting some age and wear on them and some of the linkage may be worn and sloppy. That can be fixed.
Cam and rollers in the speed transmission can give trouble. As far as the gears, mostly bulletproof. One of the biggest problems is the loose nut behind the steering wheel throwing on the park lock while moving. $$$$. Drove one for about 20 yrs.
