Just a quick update for all that were helping out and following along.
The Super A that I"d been stumped on starting is now running and running well. Happy New Year!
What exactly the problem was will remain a bit of a mystery. Electrical system, air intake, fuel, etc. was all checking out but there was no fire at all.
We tried tow starting it but no luck.(the ground was a bit slippery though?!)
Still stumped an old neighbor recommended I put a shot of gas in each cylinder head. It fired and quit and then fired right up again. After a bit more fire than bargained for...my own negligence! (ref. prev. post) It sat for a week before I could get the fuel line repaired and get back out to it.
Today a shot of ether in the air cleaner and it fired right up. It ran good. I dialed in the new carb. and it seems to be running great.
Now on to those next maintenance projects. Happy New Year and thanks all for your thoughts and insight!
