I double-checked everything this morning. I had re-used the old wire that ran from the ammeter to the ignition switch. The wire had broken off at the connector; only the plastic coating was holding it together. I fixed that, hooked up the fully charged battery, and it fired right up. That was loud with no muffler and inside my little garage! One more question: When I pull the kill-switch to the run position, the idiot light comes on. Is this normal? I though it was only on when the alt. was sending a charge to the battery. I've got the ammeter back in place, so I'll get the tractor ouo fo the garage and get her running again and see if the ammeter works or not. Still no headlights, though.
