dbski: I beg your pardon, but if the original respondant responded in classic, very likely he checked e mail notification, therefore had you responded to him in clasic, he would get an e mail notification of your responce from YT. Much better system than this modern view. Only problem with classic, few people ever figured out how to use it. Only value of the modern view forum is for those guys monitoring how popular they are.
My take on what you did by starting a new thread, is, in your opinion that you didn't get qualified folks, thus you wanted new opinions. A lot of us figure if you don't like our opinions, why the hell bother next time.
I agree the two systems are not working well together. I like classic as I get an e mail from YT everytime someone responds to what I said. That is basically a personal note asking me to explain more fully, or questioning what I said in the first responce. When that guy comes back using modern view I don't get that. Furthermore, I believe a lot of folks want to use modern as they don't want me to know what they said. Having said that, I firmly believe modern view is a violation of our rights. No one should be allowed to post on a public forum without positive ID and at least E address.
I argued against modern view, and my reasoning behind that was every thread with a question deserves an answer, no matter how popular the topic. No point in burying it in the thread with no or only one responce behind all others. This is a forum to help all others and their problems, not just the popular and their topics.
