The 2950 has a piston pump, probably 3500psi, a much higher pressure system. Older systems were either gear pumps or scotch-yoke and lower pressure. Today you can get 3000psi or higher gear pumps, but not at that time period... 2000 or rarely 2500psi was high in any ag equipment. If you have access to a larger diameter cylinder, try it. The only other thing, if the cylinder is big enough, would be if the quick disconnects do not match and one of the "checks" is not being pushed open by the mating connector. It would still labor the engine, but flow could not get past.
