A quick check to see if the gears are timmed correctly so that you don't ruin another set of gears is to look at the position of the center gear before you start the tractor. If the hydraulic spool is centered in the neutral position that center gear will be straight down and form a right angle to the spool. That is assuming the control lever is in the raise position when the hitch is all the way up or the control lever is in the down position when the hitch is all the way down. Do not start the tractor with the linkage disconnected. Chuck
