The hoses going into and out of the converter should both be warm along with the converter. Hoses that stay cool would indicate loss of coolant flow.
How much fuel do you have on the tank? Does the bottom of the tank get cold? When you are running on vapor the tank becomes the converter, changing the liquid propane to vapor. As the tank cools from you drawing off vapor, the pressure inside the tank will drop. Once the engine has been running a few minutes you need to open the liquid valve. That will allow the engine heat to covert the LP rather than depending on the fuel tank to do the job. You may be running too lean as the pressure drops in the tank.
