Hello all, until now I've never had much reason or opportunity to mess around with a magneto. I'm now trying to get a very original '44 W-4 running again and have no spark. First off the mag is turning and the impulse appears to be working (theres an audible click and just as I get close to checking the point gap the cam jumps forward). I quickly cleaned the points with some emery cloth and removed the wire going to the ignition switch. With this done I cannot get it to jump a spark however if I hold the coil wire I get a moderate kick from it :) To the best of my knowledge it's easily 40 years since this tractor last ran. Any suggestions or places I can go to find more info on magnetos would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sam
