Guess I'd be more concerned about the pressure of the blowby. Can you hold your hand over the tube for very long and does it leave an oil ring on your hand? Is there oil around the end of the tube on the tractor and on the ground if left sitting for a while?
If you take out the oil cap, does it blow drops of oil out along with the smoke? Is there enough pressure to blow out your oil cap unless it is screwed down to where it is expanded tight?
My gas 2606 does all that along with that blue oil smoke that isn't nice to breathe. After a half hour the smoke isn't as bad but still under pressure. It doesn't use much oil and I don't use it much so I'm in no hurry for an overhaul. It starts and moves hay.
