I know the feeling!!! Recently I bought a tractor from a dealership in MO. (It is a REALLY nice tractor). I bought it on faith..I mean it is a 51 year old piece of machinery. The dealership can arrange hauling but it would be when the guy got around to it..and then it would cost me $225 more than the guy I finally got to do it. New Holland gave be a quote that included a $150 document fee, but was a whole $350 higher than what I finally hired a guy to do it for. The guy who is hauling it told me he has 10 years experience and was telling me his route. Does that mean he knows what he says he does? I don"t know. He seemed honest. I will know Tuesday evening. I guess my point is, short of hiring an actual hauling/towing oufit, and spending HUGE $$ (which I have done in the past), you can gamble you can find someone that is honest. I suppose you get what you pay for. I have gotten tractors taken from my place in Western KY to northern Iowa for $200, and the guy was hired from this board. He was just a guy headed that way, and the $200 paid for part of the gas (I should mention that he was hauling a CUB so it wasn"t that bad weight-wise)... As with so much in life you just step out on faith. I know that have a seller feedback forum. I would be nice if there was a hauler feedback forum too.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
