I stand corrected on my previous post. It was a letter z not a number 4 that was the last digit on the date plates on the tr. in question. Here are some of the no. on the tractor.bell housing= 359026-R1 trans 358840-R1 disk brake housing = 357105-R1. 8913 is stamped on engine block on left side just below head gasket and forward of center of block . There is a D stamped on the Id plate on the bell housing and the no. 69259 with the letter S following after a space. Any other painted or printed info that was on that plate has been removed and only the stamped in info remains. So am I correct that I have a smdta. I noticed pictures of smdta tractors online that had a cast ft end piece that were different from mine. Mine looks like a regular m tractor while those on line had a unique style ft end, with 4 extra nobs on the front corners.
