I'm the one who posted the water in jar; I'm a total newb at this tractor stuff, but have done 1/4 mile and off-racing a bit in the past. It was expained to me that glass jars were used with water; metal containers wouldn't use water since they would rust. Before the water advice, I ran the jar dry and it collected dust; but it collects a lot more with water in the jar, especially during high wind storms when white hair sticking out underneath a ball cap has turned pink. :lol:
The water in jar advice was given to me by a couple of old timers. We get a fine caliche clay dust, that when dry is as hard as cement, but when lots of rain wet, 4x4 time.
This first pic is after clearing off about 10 acres with a bush hog; the water looked like Colorado River silt when parked.
Even with the water, it took a bit of scrubing to clean the bottom of the jar. Clean well-water refill. :)
I know nearly everyone has stated no, but it works fine in this part of the country. :)
