Bananas, saw dust - old used car lot remedies. Yes, you can use straight Lucas. You can also use straight STP if you want. But, if it doesn't quiet down with regular 85w-140 gear lube, then you are just hiding symptoms. However, it is a "passive" problem - meaning it won't go away, but probably won't get any worse real fast either. In that case, ear plugs would work just as well as Lucas or STP. mike
