While you have it torn down, go the extra effort and pull the sleeves out and replace the O-rings. When I pulled the sleeves out of my "A", I couldnt believe all of the rust laying in the bottom around the sleeves. In fact, it was so bad,(almost an inch thick of crud) that the sleeves were rusted through just above the O-rings and was leaking water into the oil pan. Needless to say I had to replace the sleeves. Sleeves are available without pistons if you need them( course ya knew that, didnt you)The water channel from the lower hose neck through the block was plugged just past the number 2 cyclinder.So that means that the last 2 cylinders ran hotter then the front 2. I discovered another intersting thing about my "A" engine, the rods out of my F-12 are almost identical to the rods in my "A", and look to be interchangable, tho the whole set will need to be used, ya cant use just one. I havent been able to find my F-12 sleeves (burried in the shed somewhere) to see if they are the same as an "A" or not, but I have some suspicions that they interchange as well. Make sure to post some pix when your through.
