Haas: The spring makes very little difference on any individual lift. I do think the long term effect of operating without the spring is harder on the hydraulic system.
I had a fast hitch on my SA for years without the spring. It lifted all my fast hitch implements including my 60 gallon sprayer as well as my 130 with the spring. I did try to avoid heavy lifts without the spring. My 130 has never been apart and it still has an edge on 140 when it comes to a lift. They both lift my MF-25, 24 blade disk with 18" blades, 1-1/4" arbor bolts and matching spacers. As I said, 130 has the edge, however they are each close to their lift limit on that disk with 3 point. My 3 point is my own design and manufacture and will enable these tractors to lift more than with fast hitch. My guess is that disk is close to 1,000#.
He's trying to lift a tandem tool bar planter with offset planters on the rear tool bar behind the front tool bar. I don't know how many planters he has on there, but suspect there is too much weight is too far back from hitch point. I see those vegetable planters working around here and even a unit no wider than tractor requires 50 hp just to handle the weight.
