Sounds like scrap price whether or not you want to rebuild it which could run thousands. Around here scrap and other things like old cars bring about $200 a ton plus or minus $10. Clean metal of one kind can bring more such as copper. A car or tractor would have to have all fluids removed, gas tank removed and cut in half to verify no fuel, and the tires have to be removed but can be removed after the scale (and later reweighed) if the vehicle is towed in.
Scrappers offer about 15% to 20% of the weight for farmers to clean up their farm yard. Maybe up to 40% if there is some clean and easy to pick up metal. Scrappers have expenses such as cleaning up all fluids & freon, cutting expenses, a tractor or something to lift heavy items, gasoline, etc. and then their time to do all the scrapping plus the hauling. Sometimes they can layer the scrap so they run it across the scale each time for different metals such as old lawn mowers as general scrap, copper, etc. They can also take the time to tear down an old mower with an aluminum block engine so they can sell the block for more as clean aluminum. It is all time intensive though.
