On the A, the final drive on the left is hard up against the tranny/diff case, just like on the Cub, so it has a wide front offset the same way the rear is.
Bs, the left-hand final drive has a longer shaft and housing, the same length as on the right where the seat platform is. Being centered up instead of offset on the rear like an A, the B came with a narrow front (single- or double- wheeled.
Mechanically, they're pretty much the same tractor. Interchangability of parts is limited in most cases to things like the drawbar, seat mounts and a few other things that are affected only by the different dimensions in the width.
