My neighbor has a 460D. I have done some work on it. It had to have the injection pump rebuilt, which ran $700. I don"t think it is a weak point, but they are costly. It needed a new head gasket and a new valve. He bought it new and farmed with it for many, many years. He is 92 now. It did not have a problem with the rear end. I have read though that the beefed up ones are stamped with a v or something on the plate. They did the work on them in the field.
My neighbor says it was hard to start when it was new (in the cold) and it still is hard to start. This is how I learned about it because I would pull him every spring to get it going for the first time. It would start after that. He said they took it back and worked on it several times when new to see if it could be fixed to start easier, but it never really helped. It is a strong tractor and runs great when good and warmed up.
