I also have been around these models since childhood and currently have both a 460 D and 560D. I never have heard of any recalls on the 460 model as they were not turning the HP that the 560 was. I never personally heard of any 560 rearend problems in our area but there must have been some since I.H. took most of them back in and beefed them up. If the 560 has the triangle on the serial tag plate it has been updated.The 460D is a good versatile tractor for chores and medium power fieldwork. Too many boys tried to make the 460 do 560 work and then you can have problems with running hot ,head problems and rear axle bearings. They are cold natured beasts and have to have all 6 glow plugs working properly to start, yes even in summer and good hot batteries as they need to spin fast. Try to keep the ether away from them or you will have big boom!. My current 460D is turned way up for pulling and turbocharged so it is really not a fair comparison to a stock model. But so far the drive train has held up to what we've fed it. I love driving a 460 and will earn its keep in the stable. Diesel is a 236 cu in and can be turned into a 282 with a 560D crank. Not bad on fuel and with a 3 pt conversion kit can do a lot of work. Sorry too many thoughts here this a.m. Migraine
